Why We’re Fundraising
Breast cancer will impact 1 in 7 women in Scotland during their lifetime. Behind that statistic is a person, a family, a friendship group and a community. And the reality is that breast cancer can affect so many of us, whether directly or through someone we love.
As fitness professionals, we see every day how much movement, community, and a supportive environment can mean to someone's physical and mental well-being. That is why we wanted to take on a challenge that goes beyond simply raising money — we want to use our F45 community to raise awareness and show our support for those affected by breast cancer.
On 26th October, two of our F45 Stockbridge trainers will be taking on a cardio class marathon, completing multiple cardio classes back-to-back. It will be a tough challenge, but one we are excited to take on alongside our members and wider community.
We have chosen to fundraise for The House of Hope, Scotland's first permanent community-based support and wellbeing centre for people impacted by breast cancer. The House of Hope provides a safe and welcoming space away from the clinical environment, offering wellbeing support, holistic therapies, workshops, classes and opportunities for people to connect with others who understand what they are going through.
What really stood out to us is how closely this aligns with our beliefs at F45 Stockbridge. Community, connection, wellbeing and supporting people to become the best version of themselves are at the heart of what we do. We want our studio to be a place where people feel supported, encouraged, and part of something bigger, and we see those same values reflected in The House of Hope's work.
We hope that by taking on this challenge, we can raise as much money and awareness as possible to help The House of Hope continue providing this vital support to people affected by breast cancer across Scotland.
